Refund policy

Last Updated: 14 July 2026

At Maestrat Cycling Limited, we strive to provide exceptional cycling holidays and experiences. This Return & Refund Policy explains your rights and our policies regarding cancellations, refunds, booking changes and credits for all services booked through our website.

This policy should be read alongside our Terms of Service, Booking Terms & Conditions, and Privacy Policy.

1. Holiday Bookings

All cycling holidays, guided rides, self-guided holidays, accommodation packages, bike hire, coaching, airport transfers and related services booked through our website are subject to this Return & Refund Policy.

2. Booking Deposits

Where available, customers may choose to secure their booking by paying a 30% non-refundable deposit.

The remaining balance is payable upon arrival unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Once a deposit has been paid, it is non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

3. Full Payment at Booking

Customers may also choose to pay the full booking amount when making a reservation.

If a booking paid in full is cancelled more than 14 days before the scheduled arrival date, Maestrat Cycling will retain the non-refundable 30% deposit, and the remaining 70% of the booking value will be issued as a credit towards a future booking.

Credits are non-transferable, have no cash value, and must be redeemed within the validity period specified by Maestrat Cycling at the time they are issued.

4. Customer Cancellations

More than 14 Days Before Arrival

If you cancel your booking more than 14 days before your scheduled arrival date:

  • Any 30% deposit paid will be retained and is non-refundable.
  • If you paid the full booking amount, the remaining 70% will be issued as a credit towards a future Maestrat Cycling booking.
  • No cash refund will be issued.

Within 14 Days of Arrival

If you cancel your booking within 14 days of your scheduled arrival date:

  • The booking is 100% non-refundable.
  • No booking credit will be issued.
  • If only a deposit has been paid, the remaining balance remains payable in accordance with our Booking Terms & Conditions.

5. No-Shows

Failure to arrive on your scheduled arrival date without prior agreement will be treated as a no-show.

No-shows are treated as cancellations within 14 days of arrival.

No refund or booking credit will be provided, and the full booking value remains payable.

6. Booking Changes

Requests to change booking dates or transfer to another holiday may be considered if received more than 14 days before arrival.

All changes are:

  • subject to availability;
  • entirely at Maestrat Cycling’s discretion; and
  • subject to a £30 administration fee per booking change.

Booking changes requested within 14 days of arrival cannot normally be accommodated.

7. If We Cancel Your Holiday

In rare circumstances, Maestrat Cycling may need to postpone or cancel a holiday due to circumstances such as:

  • severe weather;
  • wildfires;
  • unsafe riding conditions;
  • road closures;
  • guide illness;
  • operational requirements; or
  • other events beyond our reasonable control.

Where this happens, we will offer you the opportunity to transfer your booking to another available departure date, subject to availability.

8. Unused Services

No refunds or credits will be provided where you choose not to use any part of your booked holiday, including but not limited to:

  • accommodation;
  • guided rides;
  • self-guided rides;
  • bike hire;
  • airport transfers;
  • coaching;
  • GPS routes;
  • luggage transfers; or
  • any other included services.

This also applies if you choose to leave the holiday early.

9. Refused Participation

Safety is our highest priority.

If you are refused participation in any activity because you:

  • are not medically fit to participate;
  • fail to maintain appropriate travel insurance;
  • refuse to wear an approved cycling helmet;
  • are under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
  • behave dangerously or irresponsibly;
  • fail to follow guide instructions; or
  • otherwise breach our Booking Terms & Conditions,

you will not be entitled to any refund, credit or compensation.

10. Merchandise

If Maestrat Cycling sells physical merchandise through this website, your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.

Unused merchandise may be eligible for return or replacement where required by applicable consumer legislation.

Personalised, custom-made or used items may not be eligible for return unless faulty.

11. Travel Insurance

All participants are required to hold appropriate travel insurance for their cycling holiday.

Your policy should include cover for:

  • cancellation;
  • medical expenses;
  • cycling activities;
  • personal liability; and
  • repatriation where applicable.

If you need to cancel due to illness, injury or another insured event, you may be able to recover your costs through your travel insurance provider.

12. Statutory Rights

Nothing in this Return & Refund Policy affects any statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer protection legislation.
